One of the steps above belongs to your establishment. If it has closed, will not reply, or cannot be found, none of them can be followed as written — and that is where most people are told the matter ends.

Somebody else signs it — Where a form does need attesting, EPFO's own form names eight authorities who may do it instead of the employer.
Compel the answer — An RTI application about the establishment's status and its returns must be answered in thirty days.

EPFO permits a date-of-birth correction only within a tolerance band, and the evidence it accepts is ranked — Aadhaar is not automatically the winner. Where the difference is large, the correction needs higher approval and materially more documentation, which is why some members are quietly stuck for months on what looks like a typo.
